A Bahamas Vacation Travel Guide

A Bahamas Vacation has always sounded like paradise on earth, but did you know that when you travel to the Bahamas you aren’t just going to one island, but many.

Travelling from one end of the Bahamas to the other, not only are there the well known islands like Grand Bahama, The Abacos, Eleuthera, and Exuma, but the Bahamas is in fact a country of 700 islands, of which 23 are inhabited but there are many many unpopulated islets and cays.

The differences to be found between different islands is also extreme, when you take cosmopolitan Nassau and compare it to the desert like Inagua. As you can imagine being only fifty miles off the Florida Coast, the Bahamas are very much an American playground, indeed on a lot of the islands the tiny villages could almost be the same as ones found on the coast of Massachusetts, only the palms, and sands are different.
A Bahamas Vacation has long been popular with sailors because the sea is calm, there are cooling tradewinds and this is the home of the Gulf Stream which makes the climate so pleasant. The Gulf Stream also is the reason that there are so many large fish, and a general abundance of marine life, so a lot of people travel to the Bahamas for a vacation just for the sport fishing.

No vacation in the Bahamas would be complete without spending time either snorkelling or scuba diving. The Gulf Stream is again responsible for the sheer underwater delights, the spectacular shoals of fish which congregate around the reefs, which are over 5% of the total number of coral reefs in the world. You will never tire of this underwater technicolour fantasy world in the Bahamas.

Probably more people take a Bahamas Vacation because of the beauty of the beaches than anything else and no Bahamas trip would be complete without a visit to the pink sands of Harbour Island and Eleuthera.

Having said that there are more beaches in the Bahamas than you could ever visit in your entire life, but you should take the time to go to the Exumas and San Salvador where you will almost be alone on their beautiful beaches.

After you are sated by the beautiful beaches and everything the sea has to offer you on your Bahamas Vacation, why not go ashore and just enjoy the sheer spellbinding beauty of the Bahamas Islands. You can fly from island to island or just take a flight to see the amazing sight of the white sand, green islands, coral keys, turquoise sea, lovely little villages, all totally unforgettable.

On the ground why not hire a bicycle and explore, then of course there are the masses of other things to do on dry land. Your vacation in the Bahamas could consist of staying in one of the many world class properties and hotels that dot the islands, playing tennis, golf on beautiful championship courses.

Shopping is another delight on your vacation to the Bahamas in one of the island’s shopping arcades. If you like to gamble then there are casinos, but then again there really is nothing like sitting on a pink sand beach with a good book, a cool drink, surrounded by your family.

A Bahamas Vacation can bring you close to paradise on earth.

The Promise of Perth: Some Delectable Side Trips

The Western Australia capital of Perth offers so much to the holiday maker. There are historical monuments, great shopping and dining and nightlife all in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. But to get the most out of your Perth Holiday, you need to get out of the city and pay a visit to some of the enchanting nearby attractions. Here's the skivvy on three of those delights: Sunset Coast, Swan Valley and Rottnest Island

One of the joys of visiting Perth is the proximity of some fine beaches to the city centre. The most luminous beach area is known as the Sunset Coast, a long strip of clean sand.

The whole area is perfect for swimming, walking and cycling, as well as al fresco dining or just relaxing in beach front cafes. As the name suggests, a special time of day to enjoy this area is sunset, when you can view the sun dipping down into the Indian Ocean in a blaze of orange. It makes for the perfect romantic moment.

Among the beaches of choice for safe swimming are Cottesloe Beach, Swanbourne Beach, which is a nudist beach, and City Beach, North Beach, and Sorrento Beach, which are popular family beaches.

Another great Perth side trip is to Swan Valley, especially for wine buffs. Just 20 minutes from downtown Perth, Swan Valley is one of Western Australia's oldest wine producing regions and home to over 40 vineyards. Many have been in the same families for generations since the founders arrived from Europe.

Wine buffs will be particularly intrigued by the singular, fortified wines produced here. These include Muscats, Ports and some liqueur wines offered direct from the cellar door.

If beer is your tipple, you can visit the several boutique and micro breweries in the region. More than 20 locally brewed beers are on offer including ales and stout. Other than the many imbibing options, Swan Valley also offers a number of great restaurants.

Nature lovers will enjoy a visit to Swan Valley's Whiteman Park, a conservation area covering more than 4000 hectares of protected bushland and wetland. Flora in the the park includes Banksias, Melaleucas, Wattles and Grass Trees.

Another treat for nature lovers is the small island of Rottnest, accessible via a short ferry trip from Perth City, Fremantle or Hillarys. It's home to the small marsupials known as Quokka.

Known locally as "Rotto", Rottnest Island has a chequered history having been used as a prison colony, farm, governor's residence and military training zone over the years. No cars are allowed on the island but it can get busy with locals especially during school holidays.

Other than relaxing and enjoying nature, Rottnest Island is also a great place for activities such as cycling, swimming, sunbathing, and especially, snorkelling and scuba diving. The waters are clean and the seabed is home to coral reefs and shipwrecks.

Making Perth your base to explore Western Australia is a smart move. For one thing it has great transport options and is packed with things to do and places to go. You've also got a grand choice of Perth city hotels including the The New Esplanade Hotel and the Parmelia Hilton Perth.

About the Author: Richard Greaves has over 20 years experience in the travel industry and writes for Cheaper than Hotels. Cheaper Than Hotels offers Perth City hotels as The New Esplanade Hotel and Parmelia Hilton Perth.

Top Five Attractions To See On An Australian Vacation

It can be a challenge to come up with a list of the top five attractions in a country that's as big and diverse as Australia. If you have visited the "Land Down Under" before, you may have your own suggestions. Although, if you have not yet visited Australia, the following places will give you a good start, they include man-made and natural wonders, dramatic scenery, beautiful beaches and Aborigine culture.

Great Barrier Reef

Off the eastern coast of Australia lies one of the world's greatest natural wonders. The reef's statistics are impressive, it is around 1200 miles long, and is home to around 1,500 varieties of fish and around 400 species of coral. You may also be lucky enough to see manatees, sharks, and turtles as well as humpback whales that give birth during the winter months.

There are several ways to see the reef. Many companies offer cruises - lasting from several hours to a full day, and you can also sleep on the reef aboard a 1890's sailing boat. Virtually every cruise boat also offers the chance to see the reef by diving, an opportunity not to be missed, even if you are new to diving. Also, many visitors to the reef cannot resist mailing postcards from Australia's only floating post office, anchored about 45 miles offshore from Port Douglas.

Sydney Opera House

One of the most recognizable and striking buildings in the world, Sydney's famous opera house was designed by the Danish architect Jorn Utzon. Even if you do not like opera, the building is worth visiting, it is actually a major center for the performing arts where you can see not only opera, but classical music, dance and rock concerts. And there are free performances outside the building on Sunday afternoons.

Sydney Opera House does resemble the billowing sails of a ship, quite appropriate, as the building lies alongside one of the world's most beautiful harbors. Not far from the Opera House is the area of Sydney known as Circular Quay, a bustling area of shops, bars and restaurants. And from Circular Quay, you can easily catch a bus or ferry to almost any other part of the city, the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens and the historic Rocks district, the oldest part of the city.

The Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is Australia's playground. Beautiful white sandy beaches line the coast for 40 miles, backed by high-rise apartments, luxury hotels, shops, casinos and restaurants. The area also boasts several theme parks such as Sea World and Movie World, as well as around 40 golf courses.

The closest big city to the Gold Coast area is Brisbane, capital of Queensland. It's a friendly laid back kind of a place, offering a wide range of shopping and restaurants. But if you really want to escape from the crowds on the Gold Coast beaches, explore some of the small islands in nearby Moreton Bay.

The Outback (Ayers Rock and Alice Springs)

Many visitors to Australia come just to see the famous Outback - one of the last truly unspoiled areas in the world. It's difficult to comprehend the size of the Outback, it covers an estimated 2.5 million square miles. The Outback is not all desert, the northern part boasts high mountains, deep gorges and spectacular waterfalls. Driving across the Outback is an unforgettable experience, although you should always carry essentials such as extra water and fuel, spare tires, and perhaps a satellite phone

The unofficial capital of the Outback is the town of Alice Springs, made famous by the book and movie A Town like Alice. Alice Springs makes a good base to explore the area as well as to shop for Aborigine souvenirs. Within easy reach of Alice is the huge monolith once known as Ayers Rock, now known by its Aborigine name of Uluru. The rock is impressive at any time of day, but if you have the chance, try to be there at sunset.

Darwin and Kakadu National Park

Darwin is about as far north as you can go in Australia, in fact the city is closer to parts of Asia than to many parts of Australia, and has quite an oriental feel to it.

Within easy reach of Darwin are several areas of natural beauty, including Australia's largest national park, Kakadu. The park covers around 6,000 square miles, and offers varied landscapes ranging from wetlands to dramatic sandstone escarpments. Over 200 species of birds and around 75 species of reptile can be seen here.

Kakadu is still under Aborigine control and is one of the few places where their traditional way of life is still practiced. You can see their art on display at the park's cultural center and at various rock-art sites, and if you are lucky, you may glimpse the Aborigines themselves.

MY VACATION CHOICE : SARDINIA

Holidays In Sardinia

Sardinia is an island nestled between Africa to the south, Corsica to the north, Italy to the east and Spain to the west. The east coast shores are lapped by the Tyrrhenian Sea and the west coast by the Mediterranean ocean. Why would you chose to go on holiday to Sardinia instead of mainland Italy or indeed any of the more popular Mediterranean destinations?

Sardinia is pretty easy to get for a holiday with airports in Cagliari (the capital), Olbia and Alghero, Alghero being one of th most popular holiday destinations on the island as well as being one of the most beautiful towns on the island.

Sardinia is one of those rare holiday places to find, an un-spoilt territory with beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and great facilities that attracts hordes of Italian tourists each year and lesser numbers of British and Germans but has managed to keep its integrity and culture and not succumb to the temptation to build monstrous high rise hotel blocks, all clamouring to reach the sun. Perfect for family holidays.

Sardinia is a traditional place where locals still go about their daily business without too much interference from tourists on holiday. Many holiday resorts close down for the winter, not so Sardinia. The winter months see business very much as usual with the fishing boats still coming in and going out daily and the shepherds still tending their flocks in the mountains.

Sardinia receives more sunshine than anywhere else in Italy, reputedly 300 days per year so it's easy to see why life goes on as usual for the residents of Sardinia, nearly everyday is like summer. So no matter what time of year you chose to visit Sardinia for your holiday the weather should always be good.

The beaches in Sardinia are stunning, stretches of majestic white sand meeting crystal clear blue green water, clean and tranquil, perfect for a long beach holiday. The beaches of Sardinia can get busy in peak holiday times but go out of peak time, even as late as June and you'll be lucky to find more than ten people on the beach for company. Most beaches have a little beach café or two alongside offering very good food, beer or coffee at very reasonable prices. These Sardinian beach cafes have usually been family run for years and over the period of a two weeks holiday you will find yourself becoming more and more acquainted with the owners. Such is the way of life in Sardinia, every one is so hospitable and welcoming it's easy to get accepted into their lives, like all islanders they thirst for contact with the outside world.

Scattered across the island are hundreds of ancient Nuraghi, the pre-historic dwellings of the ancient Sardinians, these make an interesting diversion from a day at the beach or shopping during your holiday.

In the north-west of Sardinia are the famous caves of Capo Caccia. These caves run deep into the cliffs to the north of Alghero and can be accessed via a boat trip or by means of a flight of stairs with over 700 steps to the bottom. Guided tours of the caves are run every hour, you can either choose to pick the tour boat up in Alghero or you can drive to the headland and takes the steps down to the caves.

Restaurants in Sardinia specialise in a wide number of dishes, fish, lamb and cheese are three Sardinian specialities but it's also possible to find really good pasta and pizza restaurants in all towns.

To get the real feel for Sardinia it's wise to hire a car for a few days and drive inland where the country is very hilly and mountainous but the roads are good and signposted well. Sardinian drivers are pretty good and courteous so even the most in-experienced of foreign drivers should be ok.

There are so many beautiful places that are still relatively un-touched by the outside world in Sardinia. You really should consider Sardinia as a holiday destination, there is plenty to see and do for all the family, even the kids. The beaches are clean and the people extremely friendly. The food is excellent and the transport network is good.

Oh yes, the sun nearly always shines as well.

MY VACATION CHOICE : TURTLE ISLAND, FIJI

A Guide to Snorkeling and Scuba Diving in Fiji

Fiji is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. This tiny island nation in the South Pacific boasts rugged mountains, beaches fringed with palm trees, blue lagoons and an almost perfect climate. Beyond that, it is the underwater scenery that attracts thousands of visitors every year; Fiji has become one of the most popular scuba diving destinations in the world.

Although it is a small country roughly about the size of the state of New Jersey, the 300 or so islands that comprise Fiji cover a huge area - around 40,000 square miles of ocean. The many reefs are largely unspoiled and intact, and Fiji's government has ensured that pollution and overfishing don't threaten the reefs. The country's traditional land tenure system also helps to protect tribal waters and ensure they are free from pollution and misuse.

Fiji is known as the soft coral capital of the world, due to the amount and variety of coral that can be found in the surrounding waters. In addition to enjoying the reefs themselves, divers can also observe marine life - turtle, dolphin, barracuda, manta ray and shark, as well as an estimated 35 different species of fish. Snorkeling and diving can be enjoyed in the clear waters year round, and visibility often exceeds 30 yards.

Fiji has a well established diving industry, and many resorts specialize in diving accommodations. Some other resorts include diving as part of the daily activity program. Most diving operators offer a course for beginners, making Fiji a great place to get a taste for the diving bug. Some dive operators offer courses and training in foreign languages, so you can likely take a course in your native tongue. If you are looking for the best diving deal, cheaper rates tend to be available January through March.

Snorkeling is also popular in Fiji's clear waters. Nearly all of the larger resorts offer snorkeling and have equipment for rent. The islands of Fiji have many places where snorkeling is possible from the shore, although you should only attempt this at high tide in some locations. Some diving boats will take snorkelers out to more distant reefs if they have room on the boat.

So where should you dive in Fiji? There is no shortage of sites to choose from; they range from well known and spectacular sites to sites that are virtually unheard of and unexplored. If you want the ultimate diving experience, you can even live aboard a dive boat for a week or so - a week on board one of these boats will cost from around $2,500 per person.

One of the most popular dive areas is the sea around the Mamanuca Islands - if you dive here, you won't have the waters to yourself. The coral reefs here have intriguing names such as the Pinnacle and the Circus. The formations here consist of both hard and soft coral and the Malolo Barrier Reef ensures generally calm waters - although the sea outside the barrier reef can often be rough.

Another diving area worth visiting is the area off Taveuni. The names of the reefs alone will have you wanting to go. Reef formations here have such colorful names as the Rainbow Reef, the Great White Wall, the Yellow Grotto and the Purple Wall. Diving in this area has to be timed according to the tides, because of the strong currents in the Somosomo Strait. If you are looking for sleep accommodations somewhere close to the diving action, the Garden Island Resort is the closest dive base to this area.

Beqa (pronounced Benga) Island was once known as the Mecca of Pacific Diving, and despite some damage from storms, it remains a popular destination. The lagoon at Beqa is enclosed by one of the largest barrier reefs in the world, and contains diving sites with names such as Caesar's Rocks, Surgeon's Alley and Frigate Pass. The protective lagoon ensures year-round water temperatures of 80F and gentle currents.

One of the most spectacular diving areas in the waters around Beqa is known as the Coral Gardens - a mass of colorful coral which attracts an amazing variety of sea life. You can also see the well-preserved wreck of a Taiwanese fishing boat, the TASU 2 which was deliberately sunk in about 75 feet of water in an area known as the Yanuca Shallows.
Fiji really does live up to its reputation as a major destination for diving and snorkeling. With so many world-class sites to choose from, your biggest problem may be deciding on which one to visit.

But when a doctor prescribes a vacation... it enlightens your stress, your worries, your tenses and your whole body comes into a relaxation mode when you are on vacation. Talk about going to yoga and meditation... almost the same impact.

LATEST FINDINGS

The best part of taking a vacation is you do not have to be physically be at the vacation location to enjoy it.... Sounds crazy, right!!!!

Yes, I was amazed and shocked too with that statement. Check this out - Latest findings encouraged individuals to take a vacation in a virtual world if they can't afford one in the reality world. It helps to a certain extend to relax and enjoy. If you take a 5 minute vacation a day in the reality world, studies found that it is much better than taking vitamins and tonics! Of course the impact of taking a real vacation is much more greater... Funny, right!

If I told this to my grandparents... they would laugh, saying young people today thinks their whole world is surrounded by internet, computer etc.

But whatever the facts and studies shows, it is obvious that vacation is an essential part of our life. I know there are a lot of people out there who are chasing the corporate dreams and are always busy making money in many ways.

Fun in Phuket: Luxury Thailand Summer Trips

Summer is low season in Thailand, but this means that it's a great time to visit the country if you're looking for special offers on hotels, including free nights and free upgrades (both on a hotel room and for a meal plan) and also no crowds.

Phuket, which has also been named "The Pearl of Thailand", is regularly voted as one of the world's top holiday destinations. Lying just off the southwest coast, and surrounded by the warm, blue, tropical waters of the Andaman Sea, Phuket is Thailand's largest island. It is home to around 200,000 people as well as a transient tourist population.

Though tourism is now a major industry on the island, it was originally tin that brought the area to the attention of the world, and the capital Phuket Town, is still a major port, exporting tin ore, rubber, timber and seafood to the rest of the world.

The rapid growth in tourism has led to the quick development of beach resorts, but tranquil spots are not hard to find, especially when there's always a boat waiting to take you to Phuket's offshore islets, where visitors often find themselves completely alone.

In contrast to the many white sandy beaches, such as Mai Khao, Nai Yang and Pansea, the bustling night markets are well worthy of a visit; just make sure you get your haggling skills up to scratch so that you can bag yourself a bargain!

Thailand has a monsoon season which runs from May to October; when the climate is still hot there are frequent torrential downpours. Whilst the idea of rain may put some people off, others actually enjoy the tropical torrents which are unleashed from the skies. There's nothing quite like sitting under a veranda, as the heavy raindrops drum down on the roof, and enjoying the wonderful sounds and refreshing smells that the rainy season brings. And unlike rain in the UK, tropical storms don't last for long; it's never long before the sun comes out and the ground quickly dries off again.

With Phuket holidays, there are several great luxury resorts and hotels to stay in, for example Bayan Tree Phuket, a deluxe resort with a tranquil setting which is ideal for honeymooners, or those looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday. Cape Panwa, an excellent first class hotel, has good facilities and a peaceful location, and the Amanpuri resort offers azure waters and palm shaded gardens. The fabulous resorts of Pattaya (just 1.5 hours drive from Bangkok) and Hua Hin on the Gulf of Siam are also recommended destinations if you'd like to see a different part of the country.

So remember, summer is a great time to visit Thailand, and especially Phuket. If you're after a great value holiday, with fewer tourists to compete with, if you want to dive, play golf, visit a spa, or just relax on one of the many beautiful beaches, you won't regret a trip to "The pearl of Thailand".

How to Plan a Great Walt Disney Vacation

A Walt Disney vacation can be absolutely wonderful, but hard on your wallet if you do not do some research and planning early. In this article, I would like to share a little insight on how you can save hundreds of dollars on your next trip and at the same time have a great Walt Disney World vacation.

First, book your trip in advance. You will no doubt have to pay more if all holiday preparations are made at the last minute. If you are planning to go during peak season such as between Christmas and New Year, booking one year in advance is never a problem. Otherwise, six to nine months will not deprive you of getting the best rooms that you desire at the best rates. If you are flexible on your vacation dates, you choose to go at a time when Disney offers Value Rates. These are the least expensive. Food can be very costly at Disney theme park. Do not overspend on meals. If you like table-service meals, try lunch since the menus tend to be less expensive than dinner. Whenever possible, eat outside the park for dinner.

Staying at Disney World Resort can help to save you some time while on vacation and let you and your family enjoy more of the park. This is because you do not have to spend so much time traveling back and forth to your hotel which results in shortened park enjoyment time as most families with younger children especially have trouble getting everyone rounded up early in the morning. As a Disney resort guest, you can take advantage of the extra time to visit the attractions that are way too crowded during normal park hours. Planning your day inside the park is a strategic effort. The easiest way to plan your Walt Disney vacation is to select the appropriate days you plan to visit parks and shows. Study the theme park map before you get to it. Nothing wastes time like wandering around not sure where you are or where you want to go next. Of course, you do not want the whole family to rush around during the whole day just to get to all the rides either. Thus, plan with some buffer time in-between so movement from one attraction to another is not a stressful experience.

Staying at Disney resorts not only helps to save you money and time, but your sanity as well. As a resort guest, you do not have to worry about the transportation which brings you to and back from parks. You need not feel stress that you have missed the shuttle and have to wait a half hour for the next. You will feel more relaxed and have more freedom to choose the time you want to leave. Pick appropriate days to visit the attractions in the parks. It will be a bonus if you have extra time.

With some advanced planning and predetermined Disney park visitation strategies, you and your family can experience a great Walt Disney vacation with excellent deals, less stress and fatigue.

Phuket Thailand - The Pearl of Andaman

Phuket, known as the pearl of Andaman Sea, is the biggest island of Thailand. It is a province located in the southern part of the country and has many fascinating attractions that lure people around the world to visit. Because of beautiful beaches and sea, wonderful nightlife and nice weather, Phuket becomes one of the top places in Thailand that travelers choose to go, and of course, when they once visit there, they cannot wait to be there again and again.

It is not hard to get to Phuket. If you choose to go there by car, there are almost 900 kilometers from Bangkok to Phuket to drive and may take 8-9 hours totally. However, most people choose to fly there which takes no more than 1 hour and a half from Bangkok and the air fare is not expensive. Thai Airways and other low-cost airlines can serve you with several flights a day from many destinations.

The Phuket airport is a bit far from the popular beaches and well-known hotels. After you reach the island by plane, you can find a lot of services which can take you to your hotel cheap and easily. These services include taxi cars, airport limousines, and service vans waiting you outside the airport. Hotels and other accommodations are not hard to find and mostly their prices are really cheap. You can find luxurious hotels along the popular beaches or some easy home-stays near the communities or department stores. As I mentioned, Phuket is one of the top tourist attractions in Thailand. Even though there are a very large number of hotels and lodgings in Phuket, I recommend you to book a hotel earlier if you go there in the festival time or public holiday period and you will not regret doing that definitely.

Some well-known beaches that you cannot miss are Patong beach, Karon beach and Kata beach. You cannot imagine how beautiful they are. Also, there are a lot of activities along the beaches, you may sunbathe or swim in the sea. If you like exciting activities, you can play parachute or rent a surfboard. You may book a boat tour to the near islands such as Khai islands, Phi Phi islands and Racha islands, and go diving. Tons of beautiful coral reefs and fish are waiting for you.

One of other activities that you can't definitely miss is watching sunset at Laem Prom Thep. This spot is named for the most beautiful sunset place in Thailand and you will believe it. If you like old buildings and nice architectures, you can also travel to the Phuket city which is located inside the island, a lot of good and tasty food is there. It is another good way for traveling in Phuket if you don't like crowded tourists.

Nightlife in Thailand is very famous especially in Phuket. You can find clubs, bars and restaurants everywhere. These are just parts of what Phuket is and you need to experience them by yourselves. You may not want to go back to your country.

Top 10 Vacation Spots You Should Visit

You can find a lot of locations all over the world that can be viewed as top 10 vacation spots depending on the time of the year and the interests of people going on vacation. Travelers who enjoy skiing will prefer a place with lots of snow to take part of their favorite sports while other people enjoy the sun and water and lying on the beach may. Others again may prefer to head to overseas destinations and to visit exotic countries, taste native foods, are more interested to experience history and culture, or enjoy adventure vacations and prefer lesser known destinations off the beaten track as their top vacation spots.

#1 Mexico vacation is on the top place on my list of vacation spots. Because traveling into this country is a perfect combination of historical interest, beautiful beaches and fun on the night life. The stunning scenery of Mexico is so diversified with tropical jungle, mountains, desert, and some marvellous villages and resorts for the tourists. Another point of view is that this country has its own special fascinating history and culture. Another point is that I'm an enthusiast of tasteful Mexican dishes and art as well.

#2 Hawaii, is that beautiful islands in the Pacific Ocean that yearly draws millions of visitors. Probably nearly all of holiday makers come to Hawaii due to its warm hospitality, impressive volcanoes, but first of all by its picturesque beaches. So it is absolutely easy to understand why Hawaii islands are listed here. One of the greatest benefits of Hawaii is the attraction of being conveniently located in the United States. This makes vacationing to and within Hawaii more comfortable.

#3 Las Vegas is well known all over the world as the capital of entertainment. If you would like to go for an mind-blowing city break with entertainment more than enough, the only thing you have to do is looking for the right vacation package to Vegas. Also renowned as the Sin City, Las Vegas is an attractive paradise and it's totally legal too. None the less, over the past years, the reputation of Las Vegas has changed from Sin City to a destination that is more oriented to families. Today Las Vegas has to offer slightly something for every visitor.

#4 Walt Disney World is the perfect choice for a family vacation. Every year countless families with their kids are going to Disney World, making it one of the most popular travel spots in the United States. This is why Disney World is a truly magical place, full of clowns, pirates and princesses, and a couple of the most beloved characters well known in the United States. A getaway to Disney World is full of entertainment, laugh, and fun that couldn't be find on any other location around the globe.

#5 New York vacation is something that ought to be done at least once in your life, no matter if you are a resident of the US or not. For the metropolis that never sleeps, New York is absolutely a sight to lay eyes on. With the nearly uncounted number of activities you can do and see, you ever leave feeling that you have just scratched only the surface. Most visitors only have a short time frame in the city, so it may be wise to plan your New York vacation carefully, because the city is compact and several places of interest still take time to experience.

#6 Thailand is one of the most exotic and colorful countries of the world, full of history, culture and adventure I ever visited. When visiting Thailand it is to the best advantage knowing some basic information that will help you to have an unforgettable journey. Thailand, also named The Land of Smiles, because you are welcomed by smiling people for whom friendly service to tourists is a great delight, has a good deal more to offer than any other travel place in that part of Asia. It is the very excellent destination for any type of holiday, activities or relaxation.

#7 Choosing France vacations can end up being the best choice when consider going on vacation to Europe. This country has to travel a lot of stunning places of interest and so many cultural highlights. In this small and central country there are so many activities you can do. The weather is usually friendly. Visiting France is more than only to take in the highlights of Paris, there are numerous smaller cities to experience as well. Especially the countryside still provides a strong feeling of impressions of the Old World.

#8 Los Angeles, also known as the City of Angels, seems very familiar to travelers, even before they get there, because this city is the home for innumerable television shows and movies. A getaway to Los Angeles has truly something for every people. You are in a position to choose between a wide range of accommodations and you'll find an unbelievable selection of culinary art from around the world, which symbolizes the cosmopolitan nature of LA.

#9 Aruba is the prime spot in the Caribbean Sea that looks to be something out of a picture show with its sparkling beaches and the first class resorts. Vacationing to Aruba could be a fantastic getaway to relax on an exotic and tropical island while passing on the rest of the world behind and look at the dark-blue ocean while slipping a long cool, drink.

#10 The Grand Canyon is probably the most popular and natural tourist attraction of the world. The monumental Grand Canyon, about 277 miles long and 18 miles wide, is located in the north-west of Arizona. At its deepest point, it is more than a mile from rim to river. Most of the Canyon lies within the Grand Canyon National Park. It contains three geographically separated regions: the South Rim, the North Rim and the inner Canyon.

I am sure that one of the listed top 10 vacation spots should fit that kind of vacation you are looking for, no matter if you like to have some adventure, a romantic journey, traveling with your family, to experience culture and history of foreign countries or simply to relax.

The Best Summer Vacation Destination For Couples

When you think of summer vacations, generally you think of families playing on the beach and a nice warm climate. However, it isn't just families who love to get away - sometimes couples need a nice holiday to enjoy all that life has to offer too. So where should you go if you are looking to enjoy a nice romantic holiday with the one that you love?

The Best Destinations for Couples

When looking for the best destination for your romantic summer vacation, there are a number of things to take into account. Everybody sees love and romance differently and so before you rush in and book anything, you first need to know what romantic means to both you and your partner.

One particularly good option that you should consider is Barbados. There is nothing nicer than lying on a beach enjoying the tropical climate and cuddling up to the one you love. It is perfect for couples because it doesn't have as many families around and that allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet. The best thing about Barbados is its setting and you really cannot find anywhere more beautiful and tranquil - the perfect romantic setting.

Another extremely romantic destination is Tahiti. It has often been otherwise known as the most beautiful island in the world. Situated in the Pacific Ocean, you really will get plenty of chance to enjoy a romantic vacation on the island. There is a large choice of restaurants and themed activities designed especially for couples too so you will also be able to take part in things as well as just relaxing on the beach.

If you would prefer to experience a romantic city break then Paris is definitely the place for you. Well known as the city of Romance, Paris is not a tropical place to visit but it is certainly worth considering if you want to experience a unique romantic break away. Paris is definitely better suited to those couples looking to experience a little culture rather than a hot, beach holiday.

Finally the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania are another really good romantic location. By travelling to the Pocono Mountains you get the chance to escape your daily life and spend one on one time with the person who means the most to you in life. They are particularly good to visit in the winter and they do provide a really intimate setting.

Overall there are a number of options open to couples when it comes to romantic trips. The main thing of course is that you will be spending quality time with your loved one.

Timeline For Planning Your Cruise

You’ve worked hard to save for your dream cruise and you want to cover all your bases as you get ready to go. But planning can be stressful if you don’t know where to start. Here are some tips for pulling off a glitch-free getaway.

Thinking about a cruise

* Read travel magazines and shop for travel guidebooks.

* If you don’t already have one, find a travel agent who specializes in cruises and begin a discussion about how to plan the best cruise vacation that will meet your interests and vacation desires.

* Ask family and friends for suggestions.

* Decide on the type of cruise vacation you want and settle on a destination. Do you want to climb glaciers and kayak in Alaska, snorkel in the Caribbean or Tahiti, or visit historic sites in Europe, Asia, or Australia?

* Visit cruise line Web sites or contact the cruise lines directly to request brochures and pricing information.

Six months or more ahead

* Settle on a budget for the cruise. Make sure to take into account every possible expense: plane tickets, transportation to the pier, hotels, shore excursions, spa treatments, shipboard activities, bar bills even cruise wear.

* Book your trip through your travel agent. A good travel agent will keep you on track and help you sort through everything from stateroom choices to visa requirements.

* Select your ship and stateroom. Cabin choices range from butler-staffed suites to inside staterooms without windows, and they’re priced accordingly.

* Consider signing up for a travel protection plan to protect your vacation if the unexpected should happen. Research travel protection plans offered by the cruise line, your credit cards, travel agent or an independent agency; secure additional coverage if necessary.

* Obtain your passports and visas, if necessary.

Two months ahead

* Make sure you have a camera and luggage ready for the trip. If you get a new camera, learn how to use it before leaving on the cruise.

* Start researching your ports of call and your opportunities for shore excursions. To avoid disappointment, book popular tours in advance on the cruise line’s Web site.

One month ahead

* Make a packing list.

* Reconfirm all reservations.

* Start making arrangements for pets and home care.

* If you’re on any medications, make sure you have plenty of your prescription on hand for the trip, and be sure to have a second pair of glasses if you wear them. Carry all medications with you (do not put them in checked luggage) in their original prescription bottles to avoid any difficulty at customs.

Two weeks ahead

* Collect travel documents (cruise tickets, airline flight information). Read all material carefully to make sure the information is correct. If it’s not, your travel agent can correct it.

* If you don’t want to use your credit card on your trip, consider obtaining traveler’s checks (store the check numbers someplace safe in case the checks are lost or stolen).

* If you will need any foreign currency on the trip, consider exchanging some dollars now.

* Have lots of one dollar bills on hand for tips to crew members, tour guides and taxi drivers.

One week ahead

* Touch base with your house and pet sitters to reconfirm arrangements. Also arrange to have mail held at the post office and stop newspaper delivery for the duration of your trip.Print a copy of your itinerary and contact information and leave with family or friends.

* Make two to three sets of photocopies of your passport, credit cards, insurance, traveler’s check numbers, and any other paperwork people would need if your wallet were lost or stolen. Give one copy to a family member or friend.

* Set out clothes to pack; buy what you need.

Three days ahead

* Reconfirm overseas flights.

* Make sure you have reading materials for your trip.

* Make arrangements for your rides to and from the airport.

* Leave a copy of your itinerary and a set of house keys with a relative or close friend in case of emergency.

* Check weather forecasts for your destination.

* Prepare your house or apartment for your departure — eat or dispose of perishable food, water plants, set timers, pay bills, etc.

One day ahead

* Reconfirm domestic flights.

* Make sure all your luggage, including carry-on luggage, is labeled both on the outside and inside with your name, flight information, hotels, cruise itinerary and phone number.

* Change your voicemail and e-mail messages at work.

A little organization can make your pre-trip planning easy and stress-free, leaving you to embark on your cruise vacation with a big smile on your face.

Last Minute Travel Deals: Make Your Holidays More Wonderful

Holidays are considered as the time for having fun and enjoyment. The fun becomes more enriching when one plans in advance for going out. Many travellers do not plan properly for the holidays and therefore face a lot of problems at the eleventh hour. Hence, the last minute travel deals become very important for the tourists. In this modern world, finding the travel deals in the last minutes is not a very difficult task. However, one has to look for the right places where he or she could get the desired information.

In today's busy life, things change very quickly. One can never be sure of tomorrow's plans. Therefore, the travel plans are made in the last minutes. Considering these factors, there have been drastic changes in the tours & travels industry. The travel agents are providing the travellers many offers to make their plans in last moments. These offers are beneficial to both the companies and the tourists.

The last minute travel plans are getting huge popularity in the UK markets. Since the people have the tendency to keep changing their schedules for different works, the travel planning companies have brought many innovative plans for them in the recent times. The deals are very exciting and give a lot of benefits to the customers. As a matter of fact, one can find such offers at many places, but the online shopping portals are considered as the most popular choices. Those who want to visit an exciting place for enjoying their holidays, can browse any website that offers such packages. They can save a lot of money by availing the deals offered there.

The cost of travelling becomes very less with the last minute travel deals. One can book the airline tickets for those seats that have been either empty or cancelled. Such tickets are offered at relatively lower prices and therefore the total cost of travelling gets reduced. Similarly, the hotel rooms can be booked in the same way at lower charges. Since the airline companies want to fill all the vacant seats, so they offer the travellers the low price tickets in the last minutes. For booking such seats, one should trust the reputed websites only because a lot of fake portals are also present that can fool the visitors.

Before making a final decision, the travellers should look for many websites that offer them the lucrative last minute travel plans. This exercise enables them to choose the most suitable deal that makes their holidays more exciting. The popular search engines can be helpful in looking for such websites. Apart from the deals and plans, lots of useful information on the different tourist places is also given on these portals. One can read those details and make her or his plans accordingly.

One can also check the airlines websites or major travel booking sites to get the best deals. A number of travel clubs and communities are also available on the internet where the travellers can get lots of benefits. They need to join such clubs and participate actively in different online events organised there.

The hoteliers and resort owners also get benefited from the last minute travel packages. They offer such deals in order to raise their profitability as the rooms which were usually vacant, get booked at lower prices. The last minute planners book these rooms by accepting such offers. There is a misconception regarding these plans that the facilities offered under them are of lower standards. However, this is a myth only and one should not pay attention to it.

The tours and travels industry has grown leaps and bounds in the last few years. The last minute travel deals have played a significant role in this growth. The theory of demand and supply works behind such plans. In the non-peak period, the airline companies, hotels and travel planners get the additional business through such offers.

Thailand Vacation Series - Samui Island

Ko Samui is located in the Gulf of Thailand, approximately 84 kilometers east of Surat Thani Province, or approximately 700 kilometers south of Bangkok. Known as the Coconut Island, Ko Samui is one of the most famous and popular attractions of Thailand. With an area of 247 square kilometers, Ko Samui is the third largest island of Thailand after Phuket and Ko Chang (of Trat Province). The topography of the island is that of a plain with a mountain range in the middle and 7 important streams. In addition, there is a 50-kilometer paved road that encircles the island. Moreover, the area of the island stretches to a group of 48 surrounding islets.

Despite the fast pace of development, Ko Samui has been able to maintain its charm its classical image of a tropical beach resort fringed by coconut trees. Travelers to the island can enjoy a mixed blessing of vibrant day and nightlife along side with tranquility which can easily be found across different parts of Ko Samui as the archipelago is a peaceful home for fishermen and a natural den for seagulls and other rare birds.

Hat Chaweng and Hat Lamai are Ko Samuis most beautiful and most popular beaches. Both have a huge selection of accommodations suitable for every budget. Please note that room rates increase during the high season, from December to July, when Samui sparkles. The nightlife of each beach is different: Hat Chaweng is better for couples, women and families, while single men are drawn to the beer bar culture of Hat Lamai. These resorts, as well as Na Thon (Samui's main town), have communications, exchange and car/motorcycle hire facilities. Other beaches include Hat Choeng Mon, Hat Mae Nam in the north and Hat Na Thon, the island's major seafront settlement where shops, restaurants and tour agencies are concentrated.

Apart from its many lovely beaches and tranquil bays, Ko Samui is also noted for its high quality coconuts that grow densely everywhere. Interesting Place to Stay In Caribbean

The most important thing to do after you have decided on a vacation location is the accommodation factor. Different people have different choices. It depends on budget, objectives of the vacation, types of vacation, the people who accompany you for the vacation and various other factors.

There is no way, that anyone can tell anybody which is the RIGHT accommodation for them. So to make things simple, I have done some research on accommodations in Caribbean. I have picked 5 types of accommodation. It is up to you to choose which suits you the best.

Parrot Cay
This is a private island resort. Superbly located in beautiful setting with 59 rooms, suites and villa. If you are looking for a romantic getaway and if you budget allows, this is the BEST place I can recommend. From a former hide-out place for the sailors in the yesteryears, it has turned into a HOT destination for celebrities and wealthy travelers. If you check the web-site, you will find the resort is built with Asian touch. Room rates starts from USD525 up to USD10,000 per night.

Grace Bay Club
This is one of the resorts that I came across which segregates adult-only and family section. Sounds interesting if you are adult but if you are family, you might want to look at other features of the resort before you make a choice. The beauty of this resort is in striking Grace Bay Beach. Tranquility is the key word here. Wow! It just creates a magnificent vibe when you are spending your time at the beach. The room rates are also at the high-end. Rates start from USD501 up to USD8,470 per night.

Somerset on Grace Bay

This is a new resort with British Colonial features portrait in its design and décor. They have one to five bedroom condos. Great fine dine restaurant. It is also located along the Grace Bay Beach. Room rates start from USD275 up to USD5000 per night.

All-Inclusive Caribbean Vacations

Comfort Suites
Well if you have a constraint budget, then I would propose Comfort Suites. It is located across Grace Bay Beach. Nice and beautiful. Room rates start from USD115 up to USD180 per might.

Club Med Turkoise

If you are looking for adult-only resort with many activities. This is the best place to head to. Beach front and good choice of food here. Weekly rates start from USD1400 per person and it includes food, beverages and activities. I would strongly advice on keeping an eye out for special offers.

If you are on a tight budget, I would advise you to check-out the link below… there have some good budgets from time to time.

Ten Things To Do When You Visit Malta

Last-Minute Hotel Deals at Expedia.com

Relatively unheard of, Malta is actually a great place to spend a vacation or a few days off. It not only has the best coastlines and ports but Malta also has the best beaches from which you can conveniently choose. The best thing about Malta, however, is the archaic structures that predate even the Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Egypt.

Buy Travel Maps for Your Next Vacation!

1.) Excellent diving in Malta

If you are a diving enthusiast, then you must have already heard of the excellent diving opportunities in Malta. Located in the Mediterranean Sea, the waters in Malta are crystal clear. Thus, it allows you to enjoy diving at its best.

2.) Sandy and rocky beaches

Now, you do have a choice. A common connotation people have of beaches is that of a sandy one. In Malta, there are not only gorgeous sandy beaches but there are also rocky beaches which are perfect for that romantic and warm moment you will want for your own benefit.

3.) Megalithic monuments

These are monuments in Malta that are even older than the Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Egypt. There are about twenty-three Megalithic monuments in Malta. Scholars have argued as to why these monuments can be found in such a tiny piece of land, but the point is that these archaic structures are plentiful in Malta.

4.) Medieval cathedrals and palaces

Baroque-inspired structures can be found in Malta. There are also those made by the Normans. If you take a visit to Malta, make sure to visit to at least one of these well-preserved structures which are, until present time, being utilized by the citizens of Malta.

5.) Valletta’s limestone buildings

Valletta is the capital city and port of Malta. It is also where you can enrich yourself with the culture of Malta, both through the atmosphere of the place and the congeniality of the people in it. Also, the structures and houses in Valletta are mostly made of limestone, something that will strike you as architecturally wondrous.

6.) Mnajdra Temple of Malta

Standing strong for over 6,000 years, the Mnjadra Temple remains to be one of the oldest structures that can be found in Malta. Giant and primeval stones were cobbled to form a structure similar to that of a temple. As to what utility it gave to the ancient people is still being debated upon by scholars.

7.) Qala tad-Dwejra

Located in Gozo, Qala tad-Dwejra is a one of a kind beach. Whereas the usual first qualification most people seek in a beach is its waters, Qala tad-Dwejra offers so much more than that. The clear and refreshing waters of the beach are paired only by the spectacular coastline reminiscent of the ones you only get to see in movies.

8.) Legendary Gozo

Gozo is one of the islands that make up Malta. Whereas most of the buildings in Valletta are made of limestone, the structures in Gozo are built on hills. This is something you will definitely not see just anywhere as hills usually make for a fragile foundation of buildings, but somehow though the houses in Gozo still stand sturdy and strong.

9.) Mosta Dome Church

The church is famous for two reasons. One, it is largely unsupported, something obvious through its design. Two, it survived against a potential total destruction during World War II when a bomb failed to explode – a miracle, as the people of Malta see it.

10.) Ghotto of Ghar Dalam

Malta’s oldest historic site is the Ghotto of Ghar Dalam. It is purportedly where the oldest person in Malta can be found, dating to as early as 4000 BC. You will practically feel the historicity of the place when you visit it.
